The Place

The Fort Point Channel neighborhood of Boston began development in 1832. Development of the neighborhood is attributed mostly to one company, the Boston Wharf company. They infilled the land, built the streets, and constructed most of the buildings. The main purpose was warehousing and light manufacturing.
